By : Haddad
Haddad, a Christian, was asked to clear up some misconceptions about Islam.
Here is what she had to say about:
Women aren’t equal: “In the religion of Islam according to the teachings of the Qur’an, God created man and woman of the same cell. They’re supposed to be equal. They are equal in the sight of God. The only distinction is in their marriage. Every unit must have a leader, and the man is seen as the leader. When you have to make a final decision in the Islamic social system, the husband makes the last decision.”
Women can’t drive: “The other day I had an interview and the reporter was asking me questions. And he said, “Well, Muslim women cannot drive.” That is nonsense. There are about 1 billion Muslims in the world. There are about 50 Muslim countries. There is one country Saudi Arabia that doesn’t allow women to drive. And suddenly, Muslim women cannot drive. Muslim women drive all over the world except in Saudi Arabia.”Muslims come from the Mideast:“The Arabs are just 15% of the Muslim population of the world. There are only about 150 million Arab Muslims in the world. The majority of Muslims are not Arab. In fact there are more Indonesian Muslims than Arab Muslims.”
The holy war: “The holy war is a very interesting one because the word “Jihad, has come to mean holy war in American terminology. But in Islam, there is the interpretation of the lesser Jihad and the higher Jihad. The lesser Jihad is holy war and the higher jihad, the more important, is the struggle of the self, the relationship with God and to resist the tendency toward evil. That is the primary struggle of the human being. The lesser Jihad, which is war, is sanctioned only in conditions when Muslims are subjected to persecution.”
Fundamentalism: “Fundamentalism is an even funnier word to use because there is no Arabic word for fundamentalism. Fundamentalism is an American word…”
Note: This Christian professor’s concept of jihad in Islam is incorrect from the Islamic Perspective. Jihad is not only sanctioned when Muslims are subjected or under persecution but its central theme is to free mankind from all forms of oppression even if this means that the Muslim has to be the aggressor. Her division of Jihad is also subject to clarification. For information about this Islamic subject please contact the learned.

Let us not forget the words of Muhammad.
Volume 4, Book 54, Number 464:
Narrated 'Imran bin Husain:
The Prophet said, "I looked at Paradise and found poor people forming the majority of its inhabitants; and I looked at Hell and saw that the majority of its inhabitants were women."
Robert, First of all you again talk without reference. You say Volume 4, book 54 ...... etc. but of what?
Secondly whats your point?
I am surely losing you dude, it looks like you are here to try to prove something wrong but instead making look yourself a fool. If you hate Islam so much at least learn and then talk about it, I am 100% sure you won't do that because then you will become a Muslim, inshaAllah (God Willing). I will pray for you, InshaAllah.
Peace
abudllah,
My apologies, I am quoting from Al-Bukhari.
While I know you have been told to assume I am uneducated, perhaps you should consider the fact that just maybe there are non-Muslims in the world who know more about Islam than you do, and that is the reason for their rejection of it.
My point for mentioning this Hadith is that Muhammad clearly teaches here that women are inferior in both religion and intelligence. I will be glad to quote other Hadiths for you if you are unaware of them.
Al-Bukhari Volume 1, Book 6, Number 301:
Narrated Abu Said Al-Khudri:
Once Allah's Apostle went out to the Musalla (to offer the prayer) o 'Id-al-Adha or Al-Fitr prayer. Then he passed by the women and said, "O women! Give alms, as I have seen that the majority of the dwellers of Hell-fire were you (women)." They asked, "Why is it so, O Allah's Apostle ?" He replied, "You curse frequently and are ungrateful to your husbands. I have not seen anyone more deficient in intelligence and religion than you.
Robert you assume a lot of things and as we all saw previously the only intelligence you seem to have is how to use the copy and paste command buttons.
Like I said before instead of copying and pasting do some research and then open your mouth or else you will become a joke to all of us and to yourself.
Let me show your intelligence, you did good job of copying and pasting Hadith but as usual you never did research on it, FYI: The Hadith is out of context. I am pretty sure that you can show me a lot of Hadith like that because the site you are getting this has all the out of context Hadith. Now you feel intelligent?
Before even trying to insult Islam or rights of women in Islam you better be careful of what you are opening up because if I open my mouth of women rights in any other religion compared to Islam all I got to say is they don't even come close. Even after that you want to open that topic be my guest.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
To people who don't know the rights of women in Islam visit http://askmuslims.com/?page=articles/women
and after reading it compare it to any other religion.
abdullah,
Again, I do not mind that you call me stupid. I understand that you must believe that in order to hold on to your religion. The web site I use for Hadith reference is http://www.usc.edu/schools/college/crcc/engagement/resources/texts/muslim/hadith/bukhari/ If there is a more appropriate one for Sahih Bukhari, by all means let me know.
It's also nice to know you take the word of this other webmaster over the words of Muhammad. I wish more Muslims such as yourself would ignore the words of Muhammad and make different rules.
By the way, here is what the Bible says about the topic Gal 3:28There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free man, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus.
Good source but did you provide all of us with full Hadith or just part of it, reply to me in YES or NO. If you provided us Full Hadith then I am wrong and if you provided us with part of it then you are a Liar, and you try to fool people with words. I don't want your comments just reply me in YES or NO. That's it.
You said "It's also nice to know you take the word of this other webmaster over the words of Muhammad. I wish more Muslims such as yourself would ignore the words of Muhammad and make different rules." What in the world are you saying
You said "By the way, here is what the Bible says about the topic Gal 3:28There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free man, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus" and what is this verse suppose to proof.
abdullah,
You really need to relax.
I am glad to see you are concerned about quoting only part of a dialog. I have seen times where you have done this from the Bible, and I am comforted to know this practice is now repugnant in your view. From now on, I look forward to seeing you post entire chapters of the Bible rather than individual verses. We will do well to avoid contextual logic errors in this way.
Additionally, here I am quoting the words of your prophet on this site, and they upset you. The words of Jesus bring comfort, but the words of Muhammad unsettle you.
I quoted only part of the Hadith to save space, not to hide anything. Getting back to the point, I am glad to quote all of it, and let you tell everyone how this Hadith shows the equality of woman in Islam.
Shih Bukhari Volume 1, Book 6, Number 301:
Narrated Abu Said Al-Khudri:
Once Allah's Apostle went out to the Musalla (to offer the prayer) o 'Id-al-Adha or Al-Fitr prayer. Then he passed by the women and said, "O women! Give alms, as I have seen that the majority of the dwellers of Hell-fire were you (women)." They asked, "Why is it so, O Allah's Apostle ?" He replied, "You curse frequently and are ungrateful to your husbands. I have not seen anyone more deficient in intelligence and religion than you. A cautious sensible man could be led astray by some of you." The women asked, "O Allah's Apostle! What is deficient in our intelligence and religion?" He said, "Is not the evidence of two women equal to the witness of one man?" They replied in the affirmative. He said, "This is the deficiency in her intelligence. Isn't it true that a woman can neither pray nor fast during her menses?" The women replied in the affirmative. He said, "This is the deficiency in her religion."
I didn't ask for a lecture but simple answer to get a lecture I can go learned person.
I just asked you to answer me in Yes or No but you didn't but indirectly admitted you lied and that shows a lot. It's useless to talk to a liar who plays with words and doesn't stick to a topic if you cannot answer the question then admit it. As far as the reply to the hadith http://answering-christianity.com/ has already answered that question so go and read it for yourself. FYI: There are lot of things that site has answered so go and learn if you are open minded and want to learn truth or else satisfy yourself with your echo and blind beliefs.
Good job Abdullah here are some quote i got to show too
Leviticus 15:19-30
"And if a woman have an issue (her period/menses), [and] her issue in her flesh be blood, she shall be put apart seven days: and whosoever toucheth her shall be unclean until the even. And every thing that she lieth upon in her separation shall be unclean..."
You can get all the detail from Leviticus 15:19-30
Dude robert can you explain us 1 CORINTHIANS 14:34-35 were it says "It is a shame for women to talk in the church."
Also explain us EXODUS 21:7 were it says You can sell your daughter.
adbullah,
I am sorry that you are so blinded. I will continue to pray the Holy Spirit will illumine your.
You quote the Bible out of context, then lambaste me for quoting one relevant part of the Hadith.
You ask about prophecy, then retreat when you are shown who Al-Mahdi truly is.
You want to talk about scriptural integrity, until the truth about the Qur'an is revealed, and you close the conversation.
You claim I am uneducated and close-minded, and yet I know I have read the Qur'an and Islamic literature much more so than you have studied the Bible.
If you want to know God, call out to Him. If you would rather engage in frivolous name-calling and erroneous logic, that is your choice.
23 I in them and You in Me, that they may be perfected in unity, so that the world may know that You sent Me, and loved them, even as You have loved Me. 24 "Father, I desire that they also, whom You have given Me, be with Me where I am, so that they may see My glory which You have given Me, for You loved Me before the foundation of the world. 25"O righteous Father, although the world has not known You, yet I have known You; and these have known that You sent Me; 26 and I have made Your name known to them, and will make it known, so that the love with which You loved Me may be in them, and I in them."
Also, anonymous, you have misquoted the reference. I know abdullah really hates that kind of tactic, so I will let you scold you for it.
Read 1 Corinthians chapter 14, and let me know what the topic is, and then we can discuss it.
Robert at least you got that right, next time i hope that before you open your mouth you will read the chapter.
