Digital Cordless Phone With Instant Messaging Capability

Vtech IS6110 DECT 6.0 Digital Cordless Phone With Instant Messaging Capability
If you’re not chained to a desk all day, it can be tough to keep up with your friends on IM programs like AIM or MSN. And sure, you can get yourself a fancy keyboard equipped smartphone and a nice data plan to stay connected while you’re away from your PC, but that can be expensive. For a cheaper solution you might want to consider the IS6110 DECT 6.0 Digital Cordless Phone from Vtech which uses your home (or office) phone and internet service to access AOL Instant Messenger and Windows Live Messenger via the handset. It features a full QWERTY keyboard and a somewhat small, but probably usable screen for keeping track of instant messages. The phone comes with a compact charging cradle as well as a small box that connects to your PC via USB which allows the handset to access the IM services, as well as VoIP from what I can tell.

At $93.65 from Amazon the Vtech IS6110 is relatively inexpensive when compared to a smartphone (not subsidized with a voice or data plan) and features other cellphone-like functions such as a built-in phonebook and ringtone support.

DOES ISLAAM PROMOTE POLYGAMY?

For Muslim men to have more than one wife is a permission which is given to them in the Holy Quraan provided it is not done to satisfy lust but to meet social solutions and needs. This permission is given provided the person is capable of treating the wives equally. It is not an injunction. In the pre-Islaamic period, men used to have many wives. One person had 11 wives and when he became Muslim, he asked the Prophet Muhammad (Peace and blessings of God be upon him) "What should I do with so many wives?" and he said, "Divorce all except four."

The Quraan says,
“If ye fear that ye shall not be able to deal justly with the orphans, Marry women of your choice, Two or three or four; but if ye fear that ye shall not be able to deal justly (with them), then only one, or (a captive) that your right hands possess, that will be more suitable, to prevent you from doing injustice.” [Quran 4:3]. Since it is very difficult to be equally just with all wives, in practice, most of the Muslim men do not have more than one wife.

Prophet Muhammad (Peace and blessings of God be upon him) himself from age 24 to 50 was married to only one woman, Khadeejah (May Allaah be pleased with her). In the western society, some men who have one wife have many extra marital affairs. A survey was published in "U.S.A. Today" (April 4, 1988, Section D) which asked 4700 mistresses what they would like their status to be. They said that "they preferred being the second wife rather than the "other woman" because they do not have the legal rights, nor did they have the financial equality of the legally married wives, and it appeared that they were being used by these men."

Historically, all the prophets except Jesus, who was not
married, had more than one wife. So this is not something which Islaam has started; in fact, Islaam regulated it.

When talking about polygamy in Islam to others, we must not forget to mention to them that polygamy existed in the Old Testament. We are told in the First Book of Kings that King Solomon had 700 wives and 300 concubines (1 Kings 11:3) and in the Second Book of Samuel that King David had many wives and concubines (2 Samuel 5:13). In the Book of Deuteronomy, we are told how to divide a man's property among the sons of different wives (Deuteronomy 22:7).

In the New Testament, used by Christians, Jesus does not at any stage explicitly forbid polygamy or recommend that a man take only one wife. This is surely a very interesting omission since the Jews of Jesus' time were still taking more than one wife. If polygamy were contrary to his teaching, he would surely have said something on the subject.

Misunderstandings of Islam and Muslims (Belief in Islam)

One of the most misunderstood ideas that non-Muslims have regarding belief in Islam is the concept of God. The majority of non-Muslims know that the name for God in Islam is ‘Allah’. Somehow however, they frequently think that this God is a different God. For instance, the Christians have a God they believe in and the Muslims have another God they call Allah. The fact is when we talk about God as the Creator and Sustainer of the universe, that God is the same God. According to Philips (1992: Side A), “The name Allah itself is an Arabic word which means the One and Only God Who Alone deserves to be worshipped. This God, from an Islamic perspective, is not in any way a special God of Muslims. Allah is the God of the universe. He’s not the God of any special people, place or time.”

Another misunderstanding non-Muslims have is that Islam is a new religion. Although Islam is commonly referred to as ‘the third of the three monotheistic faiths’, it is not a new religion at all. Since there is only One God, and the human race is one species, the religion Allah has ordained for humans is [essentially] one. Relative to this point, Philips (1995: 49) reveals that “Human spiritual and social needs are uniform and human nature has not changed since the first man and woman were created.” Islam is the religion brought by all the prophets of Allah for humanity. Each of the prophets was sent to a specific group of people. Whereas Prophet Mohammadr, the seal of the prophets, was sent to all of mankind to spread the message of Islam in its final form.

Many non-Muslims mistakenly believe that the Qur’an was written by Prophet Mohammad (Peace be upon him). Yet, the Prophet (Peace be upon him) was unable to read or write. He dictated the revelations he received from Allah through angel Gabrielu to the scribes around him who wrote down these revelations. The result was that he left behind him a miracle that would stand until the Day of Judgement. The miracle of the Qur’an lies in its status as a literary masterpiece. Another aspect of the Qur’an which proves it is the word of Allah and not that of Prophet Mohammad (Peace be upon him) is the abundance of scientific facts, which could not have been fully understood at that time more than fourteen hundred years ago when the Qur’an was being revealed. Such information has only become clear with the development of certain tools like the microscope and telescope.

Some non-Muslims also assume that Muslims do not believe in the virgin birth of Jesus (Peace be upon him) or in the miracles he performed, or that he will return to the earth. In fact, according to Islamic teachings, all three of these are Islamic beliefs. Muslims are required to believe in the virgin birth. There’s a chapter in the Qur’an called ‘Mary’ in which the birth of Jesus (Peace be upon him) is described in detail. Muslims also believe in the miracles of Jesus (Peace be upon him) which are mentioned in the Qur’an. However, as it is presented in the Qur’an, when Jesus (Peace be upon him) performed these miracles, he made it clear to the people he was doing them by the Will of Allah, so there would not be any confusion in the people’s minds that he was doing these things on his own. And lastly, Muslims believe in the return of Jesus as one of the signs of Judgement Day(see Qur’an 43:61), when he will destroy the false doctrines that are attributed to him(see Qur’an 5:14, 5:77, 9:30) and pave the way for the universal acceptance of Islam before his death.

Scent Drive Makes Your Computer Smell Better

All i got to say about this product is, "What in the world" why would you buy this but again you might be one of them who might find this very interesting so i better keep my mouth shut :). Anyway here is the info.

"What do you look for when you go to purchase a USB drive? First thing I make sure is that it has plenty of storage space. Next, I pick my price range and narrow down my selection. Then I’ll choose the one that is made by a company that I generally trust to provide a solid product, and finally pick the one that looks best. At no point do I let how one smells affect my decision-making process.
If you want your workspace to smell a bit better, or perhaps want to give someone you now a subtle hint about their personal hygiene, then you might pick one of these Scent Drives. They are produced by Hong Kong manufacturer Debure and start at around $20."

Could you buy something like this?

SCIENTIFIC COMPARISION BETWEEN QUR’AN AND BIBLE

CREATION OF THE UNIVERSE IN SIX DAYS:
According to the first book of Bible Genesis chapter no. 1, the universe was created in six days, and each day is defined as a twenty-four hours’ period.
However, the Qur’an mentions that the universe was created in six ‘Ayyaam’. ‘Ayyaam’ is the plural of ‘Yaum’ which has two meanings: firstly, a standard twenty-four hours’ period i.e. a ‘day’ and secondly this Arabic word also means a stage, a period or an epoch consisting of a very long period of time. Here the Qur’an refers to the creation of the heavens and the earth in six long periods or epochs, which the scientists have no objection to. According to science the creation of the universe has taken billions of years, which contradicts with the concept of creation given in the Bible, which states it took six earth days of twenty-four hours.

SUN CREATED AFTER THE DAY:
The Bible says in Genesis chapter 1 verses 3 to 5 that the phenomenon of day and night was created on the first day of creation.
The light circulating in the universe is the result of a complex reaction in the stars, which according to the Bible Genesis chapter 1 verses 14 to 19, was created on the fourth day. It is illogical to mention the result that is the light (the phenomenon of day and night) was created on the first day of Creation when the cause or source of the light was created three days later, as has been mentioned in the Bible. Moreover the existence of evening and morning as elements of a single day is only conceivable after the creation of the earth and its rotation around the sun.
However, the Qur’an does not give this unscientific sequence. To say that Muhammad (pbuh) copied the creation of the universe from the Bible and missed out copying this unscientific sequence is absurd.

CREATION OF THE EARTH, THE SUN AND THE MOON:
We are aware that the earth and the moon emanated from their original star, the sun. However, according to the Bible, in the book of Genesis chapter 1 verses 9 to 13, the earth was created on the third day of creation, and according to verses 14 to 19 the sun and the moon were created on the fourth day of creation. This biblical sequence of creation of the earth before the creation of the sun is contrary to the established idea about the formation of the solar system.

VEGETATION CREATED ON THE THIRD DAY AND SUN ON THE FOURTH:
According to the book of Genesis, Chapter 1 Verses 11 to 13, vegetation was created on the third day along with seed bearing grasses, plants and trees, and sun was created on the fourth day (verses 14-19). How is it scientifically possible for vegetation to have appeared on earth without the presence of the sun?
If Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) was indeed the author of the Qur’an and he merely copied from the Bible, how did he manage to avoid the factual and scientific errors that the Bible contains?

The Qur’an does not contain any statements, which are incompatible with the scientific facts.

SUN AND THE MOON BOTH EMIT LIGHT?
According to the Bible, both the sun and the moon emit their own light. Genesis Chapter 1 verse 16 says “And God made two great lights: the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night.”
Today, science tells us that the moon does not have its own light. This confirms the Qur’anic concept that the light of the moon is a reflected light. To say that Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) 1400 years ago corrected these scientific errors in the bible and then copied the “corrected passages” onto the Qur’an is to state the impossible.

ADAM (PBUH), THE FIRST MAN ON EARTH, LIVED 5800 YEARS AGO:
If one studies the genealogy of the first man on earth i.e. Adam (pbuh), through to Abraham and Jesus (peace be upon them), as stated in the Bible, one would come to the conclusion that Adam (pbuh) appeared on the earth approximately 5800 years ago. Check it out for yourself:
i) 1948 years between Adam and Abraham (pbut)
ii) Approximately 1800 years between Abraham and Jesus (pbut)
iii) About 2000 years from Jesus (pbuh) till today.
These figures are further confirmed by the fact that the Jewish calendar is currently on or about 5800 years old.
There is sufficient evidence from archaeological and anthropological sources to suggest that the first human being on earth was present tens of thousands of years ago, and not merely 5,800 years ago as is suggested by the Bible.
While the Qur’an too speaks about Adam (pbuh) being the first man on earth, it does not suggest any date or time-frame for his appearance on earth, unlike passages from the Bible which are not compatible with science.

Personal Wings Jet-Powers Man Into Air

From the dawn of intellectual thought, man has been contemplating the idea of independent flight, soaring through the clouds, nothing between us and the earth’s surface. What if us humans had wings?

No doubt, airplanes were a huge step towards the independent flight of man, but in order to fly a plane, you have to be a licensed pilot, and who has the time and patience for all of that mess? A Swiss man named Yves Rossy has unveiled his personal flyer, a jet-powered set of wings which allows humans to act as airplanes, even performing plane stunts such as the figure eight.

48-year-old Rossy sprang into the air at 7,500-feet, jumping from the inside of a Pilatus Porter aircraft, with nothing but a pair of eight-feed wide wings standing between himself and the unforgiving Earth below. As Rossy’s free fall slowly evolved into a steady glide, four jet-turbines were ignited, accelerating the man to speeds of 186 miles per hour, or “about 65 miles per hour faster than the typical falling skydiver.”

“I still haven’t used the full potential,” Rossy told reporters, exclaiming his hope to one day use the wings for a fly through the Grand Canyon. He explains how there is almost no stress caused to the body while using the wings, how it’s almost like “riding a motorbike.” Though he still must wear a heat-resistant suit to protect him from the heat of the jet-engines, with the air temperature also assisting in cooling him down.

Rossy and his sponsors have poured about $285,000 and countless hours of labor into producing the personal flyer, and he won’t comment on how much the device might be if it were marketed to the public. Though one thing is for sure, thrill-seekers everywhere just got a glimpse of the future. Something to really look forward to

Who Created God?

People with no inner spiritual life sometimes ask: If God created everything, who created God? The Prophet, peace be upon him, said that some people would ask this very question: "A day will certainly come when some people will sit with their legs crossed and ask: 'If God created everything, who created God?'" [Bukhari]

At best, the question is based on perceived "cause and effect" relationships. Everything can be thought of as an effect and attributed to a prior cause that, in turn, is attributed to a prior cause, and so on. However, we must remember that cause is only a hypothesis, for it has no objective existence. All that objectively exists is a particular sequence of circumstances that is often (but not always) repeated. If such a hypothesis is applied to existence, we cannot find a creator of the first cause, because each creator must have had a prior creator. The end result is a never-ending chain of creators.

The Creator must be Self-Subsistent and One, without like or equal. If any created being "causes" anything, that capacity was created within that being, for only the Creator is Self-Existent and Self-Subsistent. Only the Creator truly creates and determines possible causes and effects for His creation. Therefore, we speak of God as the Sustainer, who holds and gives life to all of His Creation. All causes begin in Him, and all effects end in Him. In truth, created things are "0"s that will never add up to anything, unless God bestows real value or existence by placing a positive "1" before the "0".

In the sphere of existence, what we call causes and effects have no direct or independent influence. We may have to use such words to understand how a part of creation is made intelligible to us and available for our use. But even this confirms our dependence upon God and our answerability before Him. God does not need causes and effects to create; rather, we need them to understand what He has created.

Female Education In Islam versus Judaeo-Christian

Tradition The Myth & The Reality

The difference between the Biblical and the Quranic conceptions of women is not limited to the newly born female, it extends far beyond that. Let us compare their attitudes towards a female trying to learn her religion. The heart of Judaism is the Torah, the law. However, according to the Talmud, "women are exempt from the study of the Torah." Some Jewish Rabbis firmly declared "Let the words of Torah rather be destroyed by fire than imparted to women", and "Whoever teaches his daughter Torah is as though he taught her obscenity" The attitude of St. Paul in the New Testament is not brighter: "As in all the congregations of the saints, women should remain silent in the churches. They are not allowed to speak, but must be in submission as the law says. If they want to inquire about something, they should ask their own husbands at home; for it is disgraceful for a woman to speak in the church." (I Corinthians 14:34-35) How can a woman learn if she is not allowed to speak? How can a woman grow intellectually if she is obliged to be in a state of full submission? How can she broaden her horizons if her one and only source of information is her husband at home?

Now, to be fair, we should ask: is the Quranic position any different? One short story narrated in the Quran sums its position up concisely. Khawlah was a Muslim woman whose husband Aws pronounced this statement at a moment of anger: "You are to me as the back of my mother." This was held by pagan Arabs to be a statement of divorce which freed the husband from any conjugal responsibility but did not leave the wife free to leave the husband's home or to marry another man. Having heard these words from her husband, Khawlah was in a miserable situation. She went straight to the Prophet of Islam to plead her case. The Prophet was of the opinion that she should be patient since there seemed to be no way out. Khawla kept arguing with the Prophet in an attempt to save her suspended marriage.

Shortly, the Quran intervened; Khawla's plea was accepted. The divine verdict abolished this iniquitous custom. One full chapter (Chapter 58) of the Quran whose title is "Almujadilah" or "The woman who is arguing" was named after this incident: "Allah has heard and accepted the statement of the woman who pleads with you (the Prophet) concerning her husband and carries her complaint to Allah, and Allah hears the arguments between both of you for Allah hears and sees all things...." (58:1). A woman in the Quranic conception has the right to argue even with the Prophet of Islam himself. No one has the right to instruct her to be silent. She is under no obligation to consider her husband the one and only reference in matters of law and religion

Lego Webcam

Webcams are becoming an integral part of the online social experience. Users can now have conversations, share video blog entries, and even stream live from anywhere using only a webcam, an internet connection, and a laptop.

Most webcams aren’t exactly ascetically pleasing. They all seem to resemble the HAL computer from Kubrick’s 2001: A Space Odyssey a little to closely. Many people feel intimidated from the style of the big-eye webcam. The 2 x 2 Duplo Lego Webcam from Etsy adds a touch of geeky familiarity which is both pleasing to the eye, and perhaps less intimidating to the shy exhibitionist.

The Lego Webcam comes attached to a 50 cm gooseneck cable for easily adjusted perspective, height, and an all-around more efficient webcamming experience. The camera which comes with the cam offers a 640×480 pixel video at 30 frames per second.

Compatible with USB 1.1 and 2.0, the Lego Webcam comes in your choice of 7 colors: pink, red, green, blue, black, yellow, or orange and is available from Etsy for $79. Any lifestreamer or Lego brick architect would be foolish not to grab one of these.
